Cytoxan Infusion for Myasthenia Gravis, Second Infusion Report, October 7, 2011

I have completed my second IV Cytoxan infusion for Myasthenia Gravis at Vanderbilt's 100 Oaks Medical Infusion Center. We arrived around 11:00 AM for my noon appointment and checked in early.

The treatment procedure was the same as last time. First, I had blood work and an urinalysis. Second, I was premedicated with Tylenol, Benadryl, Zofran. and then hydrated with a normal sodium IV solution for about thirty minutes. Third, I received one gram of Cytoxan through a one-hour IV drip along with more saline. Finally, after about thirty minutes of more hydration I was released to go home.

I have had no bad effects from the Cytoxan. My condition is about the same as it was before I began the chemotherapy.

Thanks again for the prayers and support

We are following your story with great interest. We are only beginning one of our own from finding asbestos in Doc's lungs. We live in OH but have heard wonderful things about Vanderbilt so that's where we are going to try to go to. Thanks for sharing your experience.
